Expect yet another spectacular event hitting the shores of the Gold Coast as the premium Gold Coast family accommodation at Ipanema Holiday Resort invites vacationers especially surfing fanatics to take part on this year’s ‘best event’, the Quiksilver Pro and Roxy Pro 2011.

The 2011 Quiksilver and Roxy Pro will be taking place on 26 February – 9 March 2011 at the famous point break of Snapper Rocks. Located at the spectacular southern end of the Gold Coast, participants and spectators are greeted by the sun-kissed shores and wave barrels and swells that makes it the idyllic beach for surfing.

This year’s Quiksilver Pro will feature some of the best male surfers in the world including hometown favourite Joel Parkinson (AUS), Bede Durbidge and the two-time World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS). Internationally acclaimed surfers participating in the event include Adriano de Souza (BRA), Fredrick Patacchia (HAW), Jordy Smith (ZAF), Jeremy Flores (FRA) as well as the ten-time World Champion Kelly Slater (USA). The prize pool for this year’s Quiksilver Pro amounts to US$425,000.

Of course, this year’s event won’t be complete without the top ranking women surfers who will compete for the championship for Roxy Pro. Vacationers and surfing fans at our holiday resort in Gold Coast can witness some of the most excellent women in surfing which will include Australia’s very own four-time World Champion Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) and world number two Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS). The Roxy Pro also has a hefty sum of $110,000 prize purse for the winners of the competition.

Guests at our luxury apartments in Gold Coast won’t miss all the happenings as the event will be on webcast. But for the more enthusiastic surfing fans, you can always head on to Snapper Rocks and cheer on your favourite surfer.
